Here are some frequently asked questions about our exciting new move!
Why are you moving?
Our move is part of our commitment to keep our council office available for girls and volunteers locally. The new building will be handicapped accessible and offers more room for council staff to better assist girls and volunteers.
What is different about your new location?
Our new building is located in an office park rather than in a residential neighborhood, which allows better access to local shopping destinations popular with girls and volunteers. Also, the new office is designed to host a much larger council shop. There will be handicapped access to the building and restroom.
Where are you moving to?
We are moving to 5 Ellinwood Court in New Hartford, located near the Marquee Cinemas.
Are you still on the bus route?
Yes. Our new location is conveniently located on a bus route in New Hartford.
What are your office hours?
We will have the same office hours as our current council office: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Our summer hours will remain the same as well, with the office closing at 5 p.m. on Tuesdays instead of 6 p.m.
How do I get there?
We are located just off of Commercial Drive, near the Marquee Cinemas and across from the UPS. For more specific directions, feel free to call the council office.

With realignment on the horizon, why are we moving now?
As the Foothills Council enters realignment, the move is an important step in maintaining a local presence. This commitment to our local membership is fully supported by the four other councils joining the Foothills Council in 2009.
How will the move benefit my troop and me?
A search was conducted throughout the council area to find an office space that was handicapped accessible, visible, conveniently located for our members, and offers more work areas for the Council staff to meet and plan with volunteers and girls to better assist them.
When will you move?
Our new office will open on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. We will close the old shop at Noon and office at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, to prepare for the move.
