There is no better feeling than developing your own potential in a safe environment filled with adventure, exploration, fun, and friendship. There is no better knowledge than the learning that takes place through action, teamwork, and cooperation. And that's what Camp Agaliha (Ah-ga-lee-ha) is all about – it';s a place where you can explore your own strengths and skills, and develop your self-confidence and teambuilding skills.
Girls who attend camp have the opportunity to enjoy activities such as canoeing, swimming, and cooking on a fire, and can also tailor their camp experience on the basis of interest, age level, and skill.
Girls have the freedom to choose a theme for their camping unit and decorate the unit any way they want. Activities are planned and carried out by our campers, making the camp experience even more hands-on.
Our camp program is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). This accreditation ensures a high level of excellence and has many benefits for our campers. Children who go to ACA accredited camps learn about themselves and others in a safe, structured learning environment that allows them to develop their own self-reliance, participate in age appropriate activities tailored to them, and make new and lasting friendships.
The value of camp stretches far beyond the learning experiences that are available there. It reaches into the hearts of any adult who remembers his or her own camp experiences, every girl that takes a step and realizes her full potential, and in each friendship that begins at camp and lasts a lifetime.
All registered Girl Scouts receive an issue of Camp Call in February. This publication outlines all of the camp programs and experiences that are available for girls, and includes a registration form to sign up for one or more camp programs.
