Special Events
The Girl Scouts – Foothills Council, Inc. looks forward to two major events each year. These events, which would not be possible without the generous support of businesses and organizations in our council, include: Hit the Greens for Girl Scouts, our annual golf tournament, and veni.vidi.vici.-the power of girls together , a spectacular, all-night, all-girl event that is held in the fall.
If you are interested in sponsorship, please contact Kristi Brennan, Fund Development and Communications Manager, at (315) 733-2391, ext. 26 or at kbrennan@girlscoutsfoothills.org. All proceeds from both of these events stay right here in our council to benefit girls through the development of innovative skill-enhancing programs and positive life experiences.

The Girl Scouts – Foothills Council, Inc. is pleased to offer the fifth annual sleepover event, veni.vidi.vici. ~the power of girls together presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. The event is open to registered Girl Scouts ages 5 – 18, and will again be held at Ralph Perry Junior High School in New Hartford from 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, until 8:00 a.m. Sunday, October 19.
We would like to extend a special "thank you" to those community partners who have already signed up to sponsor veni.vidi.vici.:
Presenting Sponsor - Excellus BlueCross BlueShield

The 2008 event will include a myriad of activities based on the feedback of previous years’ participants. Girls have communicated that they need an avenue to explore healthy living options, ways to stay fit, and the benefits of physical activity. In response to their needs, this event presents girls with the opportunity to scale the 24-foot climbing wall, swim and play water games in the pool, dance to their favorite music at a 70's dance party, and enjoy the health benefits of yoga. Their adventure will continue in the morning with activities and a healthy breakfast.
veni.vidi.vici. has become the area’s largest all-girl event. In previous years, the program capacity for the event was set at 500 participants. As Girl Scouts across the state continue to identify veni.vidi.vici. as a quality, health-enhancing program, the waiting list for participation continues to grow. In 2007, we turned away 200 girls who wanted to participate in the program, but were unable to be served due to the program capacity. In response to the event’s growing popularity, we have expanded the 2008 event to safely serve 600 total participants while maintaining the quality and safety of the program.
An event of this magnitude would not be possible without the support of community partners and individuals who understand the benefits of the Girl Scouting experience. If you would like to learn about the sponsorship opportunities that are available for the fifth-annual event in 2008, please contact Kristi Brennan, Fund Development and Communications Manager, at (315) 733-2391, ext. 26 or kbrennan@girlscoutsfoothills.org
On July 22, 2008 Girl Scouts - Foothills Council, Inc. held their 15th annual golf tournament, "Hit the Greens for Girl Scouts" at Valley View Golf and Country Club in Utica. 88 golfers showed their support for Girl Scouting in their local communities! Despite heavy rains and storms, and only about four holes of golf, the tournament still raised just over $10,000 for local Girl Scouts!
All proceeds from this event will benefit our Reachout program, which is delivered to Girl Scouts living in public housing communities and rural areas of our council. This program offers Girl Scouts the opportunity to participate in the council's healthy living initiative, math, science, and technology focused activities, and community service projects.
This tournament would not have been possible without the generous support of community sponsors and supporters.
