- The American Employee Association has a US studies program for Embassy children in Beijing. Many Department of State children who grow up outside of the United States have no real classroom exposure to American History. Receiving handwritten postcards from all 50 states, from various schools, friends, families, non-profit organizations and even politicians will be beneficial on numerous levels. If you would like to contribute by mailing postcards to the program, please do so at the following address:
The US Studies Program
US Embassy Beijing AEA
PSC 461 Box 50
FPO AP 96521
Although the postcards will be mailed to China, the postal rate is the standard post card rate of only 24 cents per card.

Other ways to make the world a better place:
Provide "staffing" for area church or school events, i.e., fall festivals, bingo, and holiday dinners.
Hang out with seniors at a community center, playing games, singing or just visiting.
Clean up a local park or flower bed.
Rake leaves or lawn clippings, or shovel snow for those who are not able to do so.
